I’m so happy to introduce this new iteration of my old classic Herkimer Diamond studs! These crystals are naturally formed, but the backsides are specially hand-cut so that they lay perfectly flat in a smooth, fine silver bezel setting. Grade AA Herkimer Diamonds have a special kind of bright luster that I have never seen in any other type of crystal. Each crystal ranges from 8-11mm wide.

Herkimer Diamonds are a form of double-terminated quartz crystals that began forming 500 million years ago in the dolomite outcrops throughout Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. These crystals were discovered in the 18th century and given the "diamond" nickname because of their exceptional clarity and natural faceting. While you can find double terminated quartz crystals in other parts of the world - only those that are mined in Herkimer County can be called "Herkimer diamonds".
